Navi
Navi Coffee and Flowers (along with White Rose) is the best cafe in Miami. Pure, clean, and smooth espresso. My cappuccino was like a high quality European flat white and the best I’ve had in the city. The cafe is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly. Miami isn’t really a hotspot for specialty coffee Navi could hang with the best of them. It’s also a huge bonus they brew legendary roaster Passenger.
White Rose
Also sharing a space with a tattoo parlor, White Rose is a charming minimal spot in Coral Gables. My favorite part about White Rose is they feature photos from local photographers on their wall. Don't worry, the coffee is good too.
Magdalena
Magdalena was a small but beautiful and cozy spot. I was able to have a short chat with the owner and he was incredibly kind. He’s making great coffee and pushing to succeed in a competitive city.
Libertino Cafe
While Miami doesn’t blow you away with coffee, they do blow you away with aesthetics. Libertino is a beautiful cafe that also gets points for carrying my favorite roaster, La Cabra. My cortado was over extracted, but the barista I had was also new (he was being trained at the time).
Suite Habana
Small and charming spot with a very welcoming owner. She was very kind and talking to me the whole time. She loved that I was documenting my trip. Solid cappuccino.
Surry Hills
Similar to above, another small and charming spot with very warm atmosphere. Would recommend.
BIGFACE
So, I kinda hate that I’m including this. BIGFACE is the brand of NBA player Jimmy Butler, located in the design district, the rich shopping district. It’s the kind of place where 99% of customers will not care about specialty coffee. But I can’t lie, I was impressed. Also, as someone who screams about design, I must show appreciation for what they got going on (especially if you like modern minimalism). My cortado was way too hot at first, but wasn’t bad as it cooled.
Breezeblocks
The first time I went was actually much better than the time I documented, but was still good enough to want to include. Wouldn’t be the first choice in Miami but a good option (Magdalena is nearby). It’s also in a hotel lobby which isn’t ideal, but decent seating options.
Cafe DuBey
Cafe DuBey is the cafe side of a restaurant. I’ll be honest, this one is on here more so for the vibes than the coffee. And it’s actually on the Miami Beach side where there is less options.
