Jackson, Mississippi

Southeast

One of the few speciality cafes in the heart of Mississippi. The founders have connections to Black and White, so you’re sure to find high quality coffee here. The milk drinks truly are expertly crafted at Native, and as it currently stands, this is my #1 coffee shop in Mississippi.

Native Coffee

Relatively new to the area, Northshore was a delight to see added to Mississippi’s capitol area. To be honest, I haven’t had a milk drink yet, as I’ve only had pour overs on my visits. However, Northshore is roasting up a nice menu of medium to light roast beans. Recently had a Colombian processed with Osmotic Dehydration (was new to me lol), and it was nice and smooth with some punchy mango to finish. Location is a bit odd (under a complex) but nice vibes for where it is!

Tamper Specialty Coffee

Tamper is technically in Madison, slightly north of Jackson. Also in an odd location (strip mall), I was pleasantly surprised! Lots of seating, nice minimal design, and good coffee. I didn’t anticipate Madison having a shop that cared about single origin light roasts, but here we are. Not the most mind blowing milk drinks, but definitely meets the need. Bonus fun: you can order Chemex and Aeropress.
