Academy

Shoooooooot. My new ATL fav (in the city at least). It’s rare you get a place in the US that has a flat white on the menu, and it’s even more rare they actually make it well. Of course, Academy was both. Beautiful design (unfortunately not much seating) but all around a great experience with a tasty and smooth coffee. I love a good multi-roaster.

Chrome Yellow

There’s a lot to go around in Atlanta, and I’ve only been to a few spots, and have yet to try the popular PERC. However, I definitely recommend Chrome Yellow. A micro roaster with a very cool space. I wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve had, but it’s certainly solid, and the vibes are great. I haven’t tried their beans at home, however. (not that I can make coffee better, but it does make it easy to compare).

Portrait Coffee

My only gripe with Portrait was that when I went, the barista was brand new (he was being trained almost as if it was his first day). That put a little damper on the coffee. However, it was still a cool spot and I could tell there was some good flavor in the beans. Hope to visit again soon.
